Many residents associate this area of Chester County with horses. Rolling fields & large farms make a perfect backdrop for the hunts that have occured in this area for many years. While no longer actually foxhunting, these events, including steeple & paperchases, are now more of a spectator sport. You will find dozens of vehicles lined up on a sunny Saturday, with occupants tailgating & cheering on horse & rider in the countryside. The southern portion of Chester County provides ease of access to neighboring Delaware and major thoroughfares to Philadelphia & New Jersey. The scenic Brandywine River traverses much of the landscape in this portion of southern Chester County and is an iconic part of the history here.
